The negative is the score, the print is the performance, and this magical performance happens in the darkroom. From a little bathroom darkroom, to a big studio darkroom I’ve had them all. My current darkroom is in a shed, a great size for focused work.

THE CAMERA

THE NEGATIVE
The negative is the foundation of all that follows. Within its delicate tones lies the essence of the image — not yet revealed, but fully present in potential. It is the score from which every print is performed, demanding both discipline and imagination.
THE PRINT
The print is the culmination, where intention becomes tangible. Here the latent promise of the negative finds its voice. Each print is a performance — unique, deliberate, and expressive — carrying the photographer’s vision into the world.
